To everyone who lives in Britain, has a friend there, or to everyone who hates not to live in Britain:

I have to know! | ||
|
Please, I know there are some English folks here, I know that Cheeky belongs to that sort, so Cheeky and all other Brits, have you seen Sahara? The first two episodes! How is it? I mean, of course I know that it is as brilliant as anything Michael did or does, but tell us something about it!
By the way, I found someone to tape it for me, I only hope she is doing it properly... I don't want to miss a second of Michael... |

A second (of) Michael for me as well, please.
|
I can only support Miss Figgis' request: Tell us about it!
|
|||

...and here I ask again:
|
Did anyone here watch the Sahara series?!?!?! Tell us how you liked it!!!
|

Oops... | ||
|
I missed it, I never know what's on telly these days. We tend not to watch telly in uni., I'm not entirely sure why.

Curses! | ||

I'll miss Sahara, too. It's only on cable here, usually Michael's adventures are on PBS. And I'm far too cheap to go wasting money on cable. Sure, I'd see Michael, but I'd also get 50 other stations I'd never watch. Game Show network, anyone?

MMMMMMichael | ||

No news out there.
I just wanted to say that I really like Michael's eyes. And his hair. And his toes, feet, knees, kneecaps, arms, fingers, knuckles, mouth, nose, eyebrows, chin, and his smile |

I agree, I agree! | ||

I want to...I want to have (Interviewer: What to you want to have?)...I want to have...Raquel W..NO, Michael Palin! Dropped on top of me! I'm sorry... it's late... 1.39 a.m. Anja PS: Was that enough for the "droolage" category?!? |

Re: I agree, I agree! | ||

That was perfect!
I saw a message of you in the Chatter Box of Palin's Travels. So as you are there more often than any of us, maybe you could raise the alarm over here if something really extraordinary happens. Such as? Hm... such as another live chat, or a real get together in London WITH Michael attending, or anything else of importance. Of course you can also inform us of not so important things, such as Michael being still as drool-worthy as he ever was P.S.: You know, caitanja, I met him twice!! Once at a booksigning for Hemingway Adventure and once when I was in London and I went to his house with Loretta and he came back from shopping with his car... |

By the way, caitanja, on which channel did/do they broadcast MPFC? The dubbed or the original version? I am longing to get the original episodes (I have only some from the first and second series), though the dubbed ones are very good, surprisingly (in fact it was the broadcasting of the dubbed MPFC that infected me with Pythonmania in summer 2000 - but that's another story...). |

hr rules! | ||
|
It's on hr (Hessen) every Tuesday round 11 p.m. and it's the original version with subtitles. (The third series have just started, so that should be perfect for you) The subtitles really suck - even I can say that it's translated rather bad. Sometimes I guess it's quite hard to translate this Pythonesque silly stuff...but in my opinion they could've done a better job! But I prefer the original version even though I don't understand ANYTHING. Actually, I would prefer if they would show ANY movie or series in the original version with subtitles! Well, anyway. The only Python movie that I really like in the dubbed version is Life of Brian.
Oh, and yesterday the guy from hr said that after Flying Circus is over they will show all the Fawlty Towers episodes which is great cause I've never seen any of them! ladidadidah, Anja |

hr doesn't rule in Austria - what a shame... :-(
|
Ah, what a pity... I don't receive hr
But luckily I have most of the MPFC series in English. It would be great to see Fawlty Towers in English, though! But I must say that the German version of Fawlty Towers wasn't that bad either. Maybe because it's the ridiculous ideas that count |

ARGH! | ||
|
ARGH! I remember noticing MPFC in the programme, but for some strange reason I thought it was the dubbed version which I have on video anyway.
The problem is that I cannot receive hr (we are one of these aliens who only receive five programmes). But as it is only on once a week (unlike last time, when it was on from Tuesday till Friday), it might be possible to ask someone. I suppose it is even shown without commercial breaks, isn't it (on Sat1, there was one commercial break in each episode - and since it was late at night, they were often those disgusting "Ruf! Mich! An!" ones)? |

Thanks... | ||
|
...for inviting me to this yahoo group - after seeing these lovely photos I became even more jealous!!! Loretta and Miss Figgis, you are sooo lucky! Even the weather was nice, as far as I can see.
Oh, there are no commercial breaks during Flying Circus. And I like the host in Late Lounge (which is the programme just before Flying Circus) - because he seems to like Monty Python too - he's always kind of announcing the episodes like: "In tonight's episode there's a brilliant sketch with John Cleese and Graham Chapman as two "Klatschweiber" (he actually means pepperpots! :-))", for instance. Yours very silly, Anja PS: "I have a dream"...that one day I will meet Michael in front of his house too!!! PPS: Why is your English so good, Miss Figgis and Loretta????? I feel stupid!!! :-( |

>he seems to like Monty Python too
It might be that it might be due to the TV ratings, but we do not want to be that suspicious, do we? |

Concerning your second PS: Thanks so much for the compliment!
Concerning the first PS: Please DON'T! I still feel very very bad about it when I think of it. We were simply and plainly STALKERS and I hate stalkers! I mean, what did we think we were doing in front of his own personal private home?!?!? Since that day I tell everyone not to go there. You can wait for him at his office or go to his booksigning sessions or whatever, but not at his house. But for my and our excuse we can say that we never ever intended to meet him there. We just wanted to see his house (if that is any better A short time ago I read in Palin's Travels that Michael opposes a fan convention ("He is firmly against the idea"). That means he doesn't want any fan to go crazy about him as a person. So I really think that he doesn't like fans hanging around his private home. (I feel so bad, I tell you... - but still I wouldn't want to miss that experience But I also think he absolutely doesn't mind fans around the place he is working such as office or book signings! End of speech. ( |

Dream & Reality | ||
|
Well, she only said it was her dream , so that's all right I think (we do not want to know what kind of "stalking" dreams you have already had, Miss F.
But as soon as it comes to the realisation of the dream, I would also say "rather don't". I would never go to his house again, and, honestly, unlike Miss F., I would even like to "miss that experience". |

Re: Dream & Reality | ||
|
Yeah, ok, she said that it was her dream, but what is that for if you don't want to make it true? So if she wants to make it true, and I'm absolutely sure everyone wants to make their dream come true... then my advice should come it handy.
Loretta, you really regret meeting Michael Palin? No, I don't believe you! Maybe you regret invading his privacy or ruining his day or stalking his home... but not looking him in his beautiful greenish-brown eyes?!?!? I mean, he was friendly, wasn't he? If he had been completely pissed off and unfriendly to us, maybe I would regret it too, but as he was really nice and even talked to us a little bit, I really don't think we should regret it. And even if you wanted to make it unhappen..... you can't |

Michael pics! | ||

Here are some pics from the New York premiere of "The Play What I Wrote" directed by Kenneth Branagh.
In case you haven't heard of it: last year it was in West End. It's an awfully funny comedy in the way of Morcambe and Wise. In addition to that, every evening there is a surprise celebrity guest. In London there was Ralph Fiennes, Roger Moore, Ewan McGregor, Kenneth Branagh himself, and about 15 others. It premiered yesterday in New York with Kevin Kline as the surprise guest. In previews there was Nathan Lane and Zoe Caldwell,... To cut a long story short: Michael was at the premiere, and here are the photos: www.wireimage.com/Gallery...s====25093 |
